The German Shepherd Dog is a large, powerfully built member of the Pastoral Group of dogs. One of the most distinctive dog breeds in the world, the German Shepherd is not dissimilar in many ways from the grey wolf from which all dogs ultimately descend, despite being a relatively modern breed.

Long or short coated and commonly black and tan, black and gold or black and red in colour, the German Shepherd Dog’s deep chest, muscular yet agile body, handsome face and bright, intelligent eyes make him stand out in any crowd.
